“Austin Remembers:  MLK” FREE Augmented Reality App

Austin, TX:  augzoo LLC, an Austin-based augmented reality company, announces plans to release an augmented reality app to enhance Austin’s 2017 MLK Celebration.   The app features photos from the LBJ Library Photo Archive of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., President Lyndon B. Johnson and Civil Rights Leaders during the Civil Rights Meetings & the Signing of the 1964 Civil Rights Act creating a digital mixed-media installation matched with the oratory of Austin 2016 MLK Oratory Competition Finalists.

The “Austin Remembers:  MLK” App is sponsored in part by the City of Austin Cultural Arts Community Initiative Grant and the support of Intellectual Properties Management, Inc. (IPM) Licensing Manager of the Estate of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., The Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library, Six Square and in cooperation with the Austin Area Heritage Council (AAHC).

The App will be published as a smart phone app and will pair the young students’ oratories with historical photographs from the LBJ Library Archives to create a unique augmented reality experience.   Also included in the app will be short-documentaries from Six Square’s mini-doc series.

Apart from the Texas Capitol, this app and its associated digital mixed-media installation is available to anyone who has a smart phone at their own location.
