Congo Square

Congo Square is a Cultural Arts Community engagement event. It will feature four of Austin’s cultural communities over three days.

This event will also provide a family fun drum class each day to bring together teaching artist and the public for a uniqie learning experience.

Audiences will learn and explore the magic of the Puerto Rican Folklorico, Afro Caribbean Soul Collective, Capoeira Evolucao, and Austin’s African Drum and Dance Community featuring Moustapha Bangoura as choreographer. Each night we will take a cultural journey through history connecting the magic of Africa to these rich cultural communities. The music and dance will tell the story as the audience will be invited to experience the magic of each culture through interactive entertainment.
