Jessica Scott Felder

Jessica Scott-Felder is from Atlanta, Georgia and professor of Studio Art at Wofford College beginning in the Fall of 2016. Jessica has was selected as a Fulton County Fellowship recipient in 2014 and Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs Artist Grant recipient in 2016.

In her latest series the “VictorianAncestry/Twilights,” Jessica digitally collage cross-cultural imagery to create a historical hybrid. By combining cultures through digital collage she seeks to unveil similarities that may exist visually or functionally with European attire and African masks. As a woman of African American, Native American Wando, Filipino and Irish decent, Jessica is exploring visual hybridity and imagining new histories in racial and cultural ambiguity.
