Texas Artist Series: Vincent Valdez

Spend an afternoon with official Texas State Artist Vincent Valdez as he shares images from his recent work, The Strangest Fruit, a powerful painting series that re-stages and responds to a troubling page of Texas history. 

This FREE event will feature a live performance of corridos, traditional folk ballads closely tied to the identity and history of the Texas-Mexico border region. 

Texas Artist Series: Vincent Valdez is held in conjunction with the special exhibition Life and Death on the Border 1910-1920, on view through April 3.
