Request for Qualifications: Austin Fire Department Artist-in-Residence

The City seeks to commission an artist-in-residence who will document the people and operations of six fire stations currently undergoing renovations. They will spend approximately 10-15 hours per week observing the activities of the fire stations over a 2-3 month period. At the end of the residency period, the artist will submit a proposal to create a series of 2-dimensional works to be sited on the interior or exterior walls of the fire stations. Professional artists who live in the Austin metropolitan area (Travis, Willamson, Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Burnet, and Blanco counties) are eligible to apply. Budget: $36,000
