Ever since we left Earth and her sun behind, every planet and moon we’ve settled on has found its own brand of law, or lack thereof. But there’s some just won’t settle, who refuse to live under any law save their own. You ready to join us? To shake the dust of the worlds off your boots and sail past the horizon to get in and out of trouble in the inky black? To hunt outlaws one day and be one yourself the next, as long as it puts creds in your pocket and keeps you flying? Whether you got a past you’re running from, or a future you’re looking to find, you got a place among the misfit crew of the LONELY STAR!
LONELY STAR is an improvised serialized space western (in the style of such classic genre mash-ups as Firefly and Cowboy Bebop) that follows the adventures of the ragtag crew of the titular ship. As they traverse the frontiers of a new solar system, the borders between law, crime, and justice get awful muddied. To survive, they find themselves looking for work both legal and (more often) less than, armed with the only thing they can truly count on: each other.
Presented over six episodes on Friday and Saturday nights November 6-21 at 8pm at the Institution Theater, LONELY STAR features creator/director Jordan T. Maxwell, Rachel Austin, Kelly Campbell, Manuel Duran, Lena Long, Marc Majcher, Jayme Ramsay, Peter Rogers, and Josh Santo (alongside a special guest star every night!), with assistant direction by Aspen Webster, technical direction/lighting by Cindy Ward, scoring by Lindsey McGowen, sound effects by Sarah Hutchins, and costume design by Emily Cawood.
