Michael Ray Charles’ (Forever Free) Ideas, Languages and Conversations Celebration and Q&A

Join Landmarks, the public art program of The University of Texas at Austin, in celebrating artist Michael Ray Charles’ (Forever Free) Ideas, Languages and Conversations on October 15, 2015. Hundreds of wooden crutches come together to form this site-specific sculpture that symbolizes the progress, transition, and transformation of historically marginalized populations. The work is suspended in the atrium of the Gordon-White Building.

The celebration will feature a public Q&A session with the artist at 5:30 p.m. in T.S. Painter Hall, followed by a celebratory reception with music, food, and drinks at 6:30 p.m. at the Gordon-White Building. Admission is free to the public with advance registration.
