Young Adventurers Film Series: Coraline

The Harry Ransom Center’s Young Adventurers Film Series continues on Saturday, June 20, at 3 p.m. with Henry Selick’s Coraline (2009).

Based on Neil Gaiman’s award-winning novella, the film tells the story of Coraline, who wishes for more perfect parents and finds an alternate world where she discovers that all that she wished for is not, in fact, what she wanted.

The program is free and open to the public, but donations are welcome. Seating is first-come, first-served, and doors open at 2:30 p.m. Run time is 101 minutes, and the film is rated PG.

This series is held in conjunction with the Ransom Center’s current exhibition Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, on view through July 6. Mark your calendar for the final film in the series: Where the Wild Things Are on June 27.

Attendees may enter to win a copy of Neil Gaiman’s Coraline and as well as a copy of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass.
