Employees of the City of Austin serve us tirelessly through the Police and Fire Dept, at the Airport, the Library, Austin Energy, Austin Parks and Recreation, and so many more departments. This annual exhibition is a way for us to acknowledge the creative talents of our city employees during their off hours. 200 works of art by 115 City of Austin employees, retirees, and family members will be on view at the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center from December 7-29, 2012. Gallery Hours are Monday - Thursday 10:00am - 6:00pm, Friday 10:00am to 5:30pm, Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm

Artwork will be judged by local art professionals Jake Bryer, Margie Crisp, and Marolyn Zoey Upshaw in the categories of Youth, Teen, Amateur, Intermediate, and Professional. Artists will win cash prizes provided by the National Arts Program Foundation. Winners will be announced at the Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 6-8 pm. Presenting the awards will be Jeanne Claire van Ryzin, Art Critic for the Austin American Statesman and city officials to be announced.
