The Grammy Award-winning folk music legend Janis Ian, the voice behind “At Seventeen,” “Society’s Child,” “Stars” and “Jesse” brings her powerful, introspective songs to One World Theatre. At age 14, Ian wrote the song that charted her life's course, “Society’s Child” which went to #1 and had her suddenly hanging out with Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. She went on to release her classic anthem for disaffected teenagers "At Seventeen". Not only did the song win Ian two Grammys, selling over a million copies; it led to a seven-year period of unbridled success that gave her #1 records in every Western country, followed by her next hit album, the Grammy nominated Breaking Silence. As a result of her musical significance and popularity, Ian appeared as the first musical guest on the inaugural broadcast of Saturday Night Live.
