The Austin Symphonic Band and the Austin Civic Orchestra present a joint concert in the Michael & Susan Dell Hall of The Long Center for the Performing Arts. The concert will feature Frank Ticheli’s most dramatic work, “Angels in the Architecture.” Guest conductor Peter Bay, Music Director of the Austin Symphony, will conduct Peter Mennin’s powerful “Canzona.” Craig Morris, former Principal Trumpet of the Chicago Symphony, will perform Broughton’s “Excursions for Trumpet and Band.” Austin’s own Anton Nel will play Gottschalk’s “Grande Tarantelle for Piano and Orchestra” with the ACO.
