For four decades, Bruce Cockburn has been a celebrated Canadian artist whose heart-felt lyrics and brilliant musicianship puts him in the same league as Joni Mitchell and Neil Young. As a folk-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter, his mastery of musical styles ranges from traditional to blues, jazz-rock to rock and roll. Small Source of Comfort, Cockburn’s 31st album, is his latest adventurous collection of songs of romance, protest and spiritual discovery. The album, primarily acoustic yet rhythmically savvy, spotlights Cockburn’s dazzling guitar playing.
