    Russell Collection Fine Art Gallery is honored to host “Final Farewells”, a very special estate sale at the gallery featuring works of art that have never left the Umlauf estate. From October 19-November 9, 2012, varied pieces from the late Charles Umlauf will be for sale including paintings, drawings and mostly sculpture. In 1985, Charles and his wife Angeline donated their home to the city of Austin, and now, with his wife’s passing in June, the family members are taking great care to move all of the pieces from the estate to the gallery for one final family sale.
     

    The sculpture pieces are as diverse as their points of origin: marble, limestone and bronze, cast in locales across the world, from Italy to Central Texas. Statue sizes will range from 9-inches tall to life size, up to 8-feet tall.

    A reception on Friday, October 19, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. will celebrate the artist and special guests will include some of Charles Umlauf’s six children.

    “As the only entity entrusted to represent the Charles Umlauf Estate, we are honored to help sell the final remaining pieces of his work,” says gallery owner Lisa Russell. “These pieces are very personal to me as I have come to know and love this family – it’s a little bittersweet to bid farewell to them all.”
