With a focus on availability to any movement impulse, we’ll explore unexpected and elemental action, phrasing and its transient variations, and overlays of personal timing. Veritable glitter bombs of rhythm may drop in the process.
Each workshop we begin with Skinner Releasing, moving with softness, for greater clarity and ease, while working within principles of multi-directional, dynamic alignment. Working at times quietly on the floor, sometimes within deeply activated, high-energy states. Tactile studies with a partner are used, giving immediate kinesthetic effect to specific images. Working through stillness, as reference, as a way to enhance listening, unleashing new possibilities in how we perceive, and how we move.
