CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

Sculpting for the Busy: 2 for 3
July 20-July 22, 2012
Add Review/Comment
This workshop, designed for busy professionals, is a rare opportunity to create a medium sized figurative work utilizing two models. Due to the complexity of sculpting dual figures, prior figurative experience, while not necessary, is helpful.
Come join us for this fabulous, once-yearly chance to work with two models during an intensely interesting and very creative weekend.
Working from two models (an athletic male and classical female) this workshop is an opportunity to create a representational sculpture dealing with spatial relationships. Special attention will be given to gesture, shape and form. The first hour is devoted to gesture and form, from that point we create base and size; then the shape and proportion; finally we finish with details. Working in water-based clay without an armature, each participant will develop skills necessary to model these human figures and finish a piece, approx. 16 inches tall.
Friday July 20th 6:00pm to 10:30pm
Saturday July 21st 9:30am to 5:30pm
Sunday July 22nd 1:00pm to 5:30pm.
Cost: $300 for this 3 day, 17 hour workshop. Price includes two model fees, all tools, clay and one greenware firing to cone 04.
