About The Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts

The Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts is a place for students who want to pursue academic and artistic excellence where they will be honored by passionate, inspiring teachers while celebrating creativity, community and service. ASPVA offers an environment which promotes academic success, exposes students to a variety of artistic endeavors and challenges students to continue to develop their unique talents.

ASPVA was established in 2006 and has served over 1400 students through their community outreach program, CONNECTIONS, offered at participating public schools and other student organizations. The beautiful, historic building of Central Christian Church, one of the oldest congregations in Austin, is home to ASPVA and is conveniently located within walking distance of museums, theaters, University of Texas, the public library and parks in the historic district.
