The Cooking with Connally students host the next dinner in their Guest Chef Dinner Series with Sous Chef Chris Wilson from Lake Austin Spa. Proceeds from the dinner support the cost of this high school program including uniforms, cooking supplies and registrations and travel for competitions where the students can win scholarships to cooking school.

    Chef Bio

Growing up, the social center of his Austin household was the kitchen. Chris spent a good deal of time watching and helping out and his passion for food was born.

Throughout his formal education, he worked in the industry and grew to love the energy and the camaraderie. In 2006 he had an ‘eureka’ moment and decided to enroll at Texas Culinary Academy in Austin to further educate himself and pursue his culinary dream.

Chris cut his teeth at several Austin eateries before landing at the Lake Austin Spa and Resort as a line cook and learned that food can be both delicious and healthy. After working at Zoot, he returned to LASR as Sous Chef and has been expressing his love and knowledge of food there for the past two years.

“I like to show people that when food is fresh and in season, you don’t need to do much more than get out of the way and let the ingredients shine.”
