Kite Day - the 84th Annual Zilker Park Kite Festival will be held Sunday March 4, 2012 from 10am to 5pm. It's a FREE, fun, family event - everyone is welcome! Kite flying demonstrations, giant kites, kids activities, moonwalks, make a kite, rock wall climbing and much more. Delicious foods of all kinds will be prepared fresh at the event.
Compete with your homemade kite in the kite contest and win a trophy. Free parking at the downtown state garages at 1604 Colorado and south at the Toney Burger Center. Shuttle rides are $2 for folks 12 years and over, kids and dogs ride free.
The Zilker Park Kite Festival is presented by the Exchange Club of Austin, the City of Austin and ABC Home and Commercial Services. The 2012 event benefits Communities in Schools Pebble Project.
Rain date is Sunday March 11, 2012.
