Tonight we are a very lucky bookstore, indeed, to welcome authors Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler. Their new novel, The Future of Us, has already met with critical acclaim. The New York Times said in its review, "The real value of The Future of the rich crop of questions it will raise in teenage readers." A book that gets us talking? We love it!

    The Flame Alphabet

A terrible epidemic has struck the country, and the sound of children's speech has become lethal. For Sam and Claire, it seems their only means of survival is to flee from their daughter, who laughs at her parents' sickness. But Sam and Claire find it isn't so easy to leave the daughter they still love, even as they waste away.

World Book Night, the one-night event with the goal of distributing one million free books across the country, needs book-loving folks to volunteer as Givers to help put free books into people's hands.

BookPeople will be Austin's World Book Night distribution center on April 23rd, handing out 20 WBN paperbacks to each registered Giver to then take out into the community. We're proud to be part of this incredible campaign to enrich communities by encouraging literacy and spreading the love of books worldwide. Join us in helping make this happen!
