Join us for “Encore Georgetown! A Classical Evening with the Austin Civic Orchestra” on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at 7:30 pm in Southwestern University’s Alma Thomas Theater. In addition to Ewazen’s fanciful, “Concerto for Marimba,” featuring guest percussionist Thomas Burritt, the Orchestra will perform Beethoven’s playful “Symphony #7,” Rimsky-Korsakov’s festive “Capriccio Espagnol” and Amran’s jazzy “King Lear Variations.”

Whether you’re a classical music lover or a novice listener, the evening’s repertoire of music performed under the direction of Dr. Lois Ferrari will leave you asking for more!

The Austin Civic Orchestra is a non-profit civic organization devoted to bringing high quality music to the Central Texas community and providing a musical outlet for professional and non-professional musicians alike. This project is funded and supported in part by the City of Austin through the Cultural Arts Division believing an investment in the Arts is an investment in Austin’s future.
