    Homoscope presents Last Lab 11
A one night program consisting of 4 international & independent films with transition in mind

    The Hideout Theatre
    617 Congress Ave.
    Austin, TX 78701

Come see what Homoscope has discovered in the Cinema Lab as 2011 comes to a close. They have put together a program of four films designed with transition in mind, from one year to the next, one country to another, to ever changing queer bodies and spirits. Join Homoscope for an evening of creative image making displayed for your enjoyment.

    The films include:

Ring Frei : director Tom Weller (Germany) 2010
A transman prepares for his first fight as a boxer, but must first fight discrimination in the gym’s warm-up area.

Hella Strong : director Cathleen Arnerich (US) 2011
Hella Strong explores Blow Pony, a monthly dance party and show space run by DJ and activist Airick Heater. The event brings together Portland's sometimes splintered queer scene, combating oppression and negativity from outside as well as within the LGBT community through music, mayhem, and dance.

Looking for Jiro : director Tina Takemoto (US) 2011
Looking for Jiro is a queer experimental performance video featuring drag king performance, official U.S. WWII propaganda footage of the prison camps, a Madonna/ABBA musical mash-up, muscle building, and homoerotic bread making.
    and Featuring...

    Guerriller@s : director Montse Pujantell (Spain) 2010
Guerriller@s "Warriors" is a documentary that puts forth a reflection about sexual identity, an approach to the gender development and its “control strategies”, based on a heterogeneous group of activists who stand for the transsexual and transgender community.
