The Austin Civic Orchestra presents, "Holiday Favorites with Austin Flair" featuring two of Austin’s own, composer Dan Welcher and jazz vocalist Suzi Stern. As always, families are encouraged to attend this fun afternoon concert.
With oboes as ducks, flutes as birds, and clarinets as cats, Dan Welcher’s narration of Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf” will delight the child in all of us. Suzi Stern’s beautiful interpretation of two holiday classics, “White Christmas” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” will warm the soul. And audience participation will be a must for “Sleigh Ride” and other time-tested holiday favorites.
The Austin Civic Orchestra is a non-profit civic organization devoted to bringing high quality music to the community and providing a musical outlet for professional and non-professional musicians alike. ACO is funded and supported in part by the City of Austin through the Cultural Arts Division believing an investment in the Arts is an investment in Austin’s future.
