A wickedly funny alternative to traditional candy-cane cheer. Scandal erupts at the North Pole when one of Santa's eight tiny reindeer accuses him of sexual harassment. As the mass media descends upon the event, the other members of the sleigh team demand to share their perspectives, and a horrific tale of corruption and perversion emerges -which seems to implicate everyone from the teeniest elf to the tainted Saint himself. With each deer's stunning confession, the truth behind the shocking allegations becomes clearer...and murkier... Don't miss this hilarious holiday spectacle.

      I do love "Wicked" and so maybe I have a penchant for plays that show an alternative view to a popular story. In this play, we have Santa's reindeer sharing their "behind the scenes" perspective of Santa and the new controversy that has arisen at the North Pole. I don't wish to reveal too much, and so I will let the story unfold for you like it did for me. The actors do a great job of sharing their perspectives with great emotional depth and provide us a glimpse of their personal stories. Did you know there are female reindeer on Santa's team? Which reindeer fell into a bad crowd as a teen-ager? Come to the show to lean all this and more. (Although Rudolph is mentioned, please be clear that this is NOT a child friendly show.) Collapse

      I really enjoy the City Theater as well as irreverent shows. I was expecting a dark comedy, a comedy with more humor. This show is a satire and is actually very current considering the events in the... Expand

      I really enjoy the City Theater as well as irreverent shows. I was expecting a dark comedy, a comedy with more humor. This show is a satire and is actually very current considering the events in the news today. The 8 reindeer each told tales of Bad Santa and his perversions (yes, more than one). Some lines in their stories were funny, but not enough for me to give this show more stars (though I really wanted to be able to do so). Too many of the reindeer were stereotypical characters with stereotypical speeches and mannerisms/acts, such as militant macho, gay,militant feminist, ditsy, etc. The most real reindeer and best actor was Andy Brown who aptly portrayed a sad Donner (Rudolph's father). If you are tired of fluffy Christmas shows, go enjoy an eve of wicked subversion and watch out because Santa knows when you are sleeping. Collapse

      If you are looking for something ENTIRELY different from the usual Scrooges and Nutcrackers, then this show is it. Santa has gotten caught in Sandusky-esque fasion and all the reindeer must come... Expand

      If you are looking for something ENTIRELY different from the usual Scrooges and Nutcrackers, then this show is it. Santa has gotten caught in Sandusky-esque fasion and all the reindeer must come forward with what they know each having own individual story of cover-ups, blackmail, sex and greed. Yeah, not for the young ones but oh, so very funny and creativly written and acted. It was something so completely different for the holiday - performing after hours as well - and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will never watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer the same way again.
