2011 Acting Series for Austin actors and performers at The City Theatre

The Art and Craft of Acting

Amber Dupuy - Class Director and Instructor

Acting is a craft. In this class, you will learn the tools of the trade. Hone your craft by developing awareness and mastery of your instrument. Learn to relax and focus in stressful situations. Develop your creativity by accessing your imagination and expressing your emotions. Discover what “finding your motivation” means by exploring and playing an action.

    Building a Great Audition

    Instructor: Meg Peck

All actors struggle with auditioning. How can we land a role if the auditioner never sees what we are really capable of ? The key to a great audition is preparation, a usable technique, and really having a sense of what we are projecting to the person evaluating us. My Audition Technique class will give you the tools and confidence to do your very best at every audition. Now does that mean you will always be cast? Of course not. The truth is we are not "right" for every part we desire. However, my hope is that none of my students will ever leave an audition again knowing that if only they had brought better work to it, they may have really had a shot for that role.'
