Free Improv Class by Merlin Works

  The Merlin Works Institute for Improvisation is hosting a Free Intro to Improv class on Sunday, Sep. 25, 2011 2pm - 4pm at the Salvage Vanguard Theater. You'll get a sample of our class style as we play fun, fast paced games. This class is for those who want to learn how to think faster on their feet, be more spontaneous and in the moment, reconnect with their creativity, be more confident speaking in public, and just have more fun!

Improv training can help people in performance, presentations, interviews, writing, professional life, and personal relationships. All are welcome, from complete beginners to experienced actors. Merlin Works specializes in creating a relaxed, safe environment for students to take risks and grow. 

If you enjoy your experience with Intro to Improv -- or if you already know you want more -- register for Improv 101, an eight-week course that covers all of the fundamentals of improvisation. Seasoned performer and instructor Shana Merlin will guide you through interactive exercises designed to build listening and communication skills, heighten awareness and teach you how to be more playful, spontaneous and flexible. We also host monthly Merlin Works Improv Mixer where people from the entire Austin Improv Collective and beyond can meet new people, play ice breaker games, and perform improv comedy scenes with new people, as well as audition for upcoming projects. The next Merlin Works Improv Mixers are Sunday, Aug. 28 2pm - 4pm and Sunday, Oct. 2 2pm - 4pm at The Salvage Vanguard Theater. It's free and open to all.
