Two struggling writers, Jeff and Hunter, hear about a new musical theatre festival,
but the deadline for submissions is only three weeks away! The pair decides to create
a new work with the help of their friends Susan, Heidi and piano player Larry. They
make a pact to continue writing until the festival deadline, dreaming all the while about
how the show could change their lives. [title of show], taken from the space on the
festival application asking for the title of show, follows Jeff, Hunter and their friends
on their journey through the gauntlet of creative self-expression. Watch as, over 90
minutes, the pair write and perform their show at the festival and learn valuable lessons
about themselves as people, writers and creatives. [title of show] is a love letter to the
uniquely American art form of Musical Theatre and to the joy of collaboration. The show
received a Tony Award® nomination for Best Book of a Musical in 2009.

      I had the pleasure of watching TexArts' must-see production of Title of Show last night. The talented cast rises to the challenge of making a musical with a funny name, a set consisting of only 4 chairs and a piano, and relatively unknown material into a highly enjoyable 90 minutes of theatre. This show features some of the most hilarious songs I've ever heard (including the use of well placed profanity). This is a great show for anyone who has ever wanted to be on Broadway- or even just wanted to follow their dreams! Inspiring! Equal parts hilarity and heart! Highly recommended. Collapse
