At The VORTEX, enjoy Monday Movies Under the Stars. This month's theme is European Summer, featuring Roman Holiday, An American in Paris and Chariots of Fire.
Free Parking & Bus Route. Butterfly Bar serves beer, wine, luscious desserts and savory snacks. Totally FREE! Some seating, lawn chairs/blankets optional. Theme dressing for each movie encouraged.
Monday, August 8 Roman Holiday (1953)
Kicking off our European Summer Series with “a regal and highly illegal scoot-around.” A bored and sheltered princess escapes her guardians and falls in love with an American newsman in Rome. Academy Award Winner for Best Writing, Best Actress in a Leading Role and Best Costume Design. Starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck.
Monday, August 22 An American in Paris (1951)
Jerry Mulligan, a struggling American painter in Paris, is "discovered" by an influential heiress with an interest in more than Jerry's art. Academy Award Winner for Best Picture, Best Writing – Story and Screenplay, Best Music, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, and Best Costume Design. Starring Gene Kelley, Leslie Caron, and Oscar Levant.
Monday, August 29 Chariots of Fire (1981)
