VSA Texas presents I’ll Be Your Mirror, an exhibition of portraits at the Pump Project Art Complex. The exhibit includes artwork by 35 artists with disabilities from across the state of Texas.
I’ll Be Your Mirror is inspired by the Velvet Underground song of the same name and portrays the psychologically reflective nature of a portrait. Whether it is an abstract, a photograph, an animal, or a person: a portrait is a reflection of the subject, as well as the viewer and the artist. Come see who we are – photographers who are blind, painters who use wheelchairs, artists with mental illness living in institutions, and much more – so we can see who you are.
Vote for your favorite portraits at the Opening Reception! Winners will be announced at the Closing Reception and will be on display at the VSA Texas Access Gallery in September.
