X-MED is an experimental Middle Eastern dance seminar with Workshops, Master Class, and 2 Different Concerts with Q&A. It is co-produced by Amara and Djahari, two of the most successful innovators of Experimental Middle Eastern Dance and Theater in the United States.

Includes 6 workshops covering various tools and techniques for creating Experimental Middle Eastern dance and theater. In the full-day Master Class, students are guided in the development of their own dance.

X-MED continues a supportive approach to experimental Middle Eastern dance and theater that Amara and Djahari have shared for over 15 years. Their joint teaching of each seminar offers students different points of view and experiences on each topic.

Appropriate for any dance style and level. A fun and safe environment in which to learn cutting-edge chorographic processes in an emerging dance form.

Two different performances with Q&A features several of Experimental Middle Eastern Dance’s top innovators from Austin, Houston, Los Angles, New York City, and Portland, OR.

Saturday Performers: Djahari, Amara, Lorraine Hanson, Tatianna, and Ya Helewa

Sunday Performers: Amara, Djahari, Tatianna, Sahira and Silvia, and Desert Sin

If you have ever wondered what makes a performer tick come enjoy this unique chance to question the artist’s interpretations, or just listen to what other’s have to say. A chance to examine the intricacies of artistic expressions. These performers are putting themselves on the line for your learning experience!
