Way Off Broadway Community Players present Michael and Susan Parker's hilarious farce: Sin, Sex and the CIA.
Huge oil reserves have been discovered in The Chagos Islands and O.P.E.C. is pressuring the Chagosians to join the cartel. A CIA agent, who gets caught in all his own booby traps and security measures, and an under Secretary of State, whose life appears to be run by her libido, are sent to a safe house in the mountains of Virginia to begin negotiations for the U.S. to place the Chagos Islands under their protection. Except, no one knows who the islands' representative really is. Could it be the stranded televangelist, his innocent secretary, the ex-marine caretaker or the mysterious neighbor?
Show times are June 3 - 25 Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and a Sunday matinee on June 12 at 3 p.m.

      The play takes place in a CIA Safe House somewhere in the Mountains of Virginia. The set is an enchanting, comfortable lodge with a fantastic fireplace with a gentle glow, a nice variety of wall hangings, a well-stocked liquor cabinet, and the requisite bear rug and deer antlers. The ongoing sounds of rain help to set the context of the story and make the scene feel cozier. The play begins with someone breaking into the house by climbing through the working windows with a flashlight, all to the well-recognized tunes of “Secret Agent Man.” Although the play is a farce, it is also a mystery. Which of the characters is actually the representative that they are waiting to meet? The negotiations have been so secret, that the main characters don’t know if it will be a male or female. See if you can figure it out before the answer is revealed to you. Collapse

      WOBCPs latest production, Sin, Sex, and the C.I.A., had the audience laughing within the first seconds of opening. The show revolves around a plot to begin oil-rights negotiations with unknown... Expand

      WOBCPs latest production, Sin, Sex, and the C.I.A., had the audience laughing within the first seconds of opening. The show revolves around a plot to begin oil-rights negotiations with unknown representatives from The Islands of Chagos and several government agencies. A raging rainstorm brings a few drop-in guests – but are they really just guests – or is one of them the unknown rep from Chagos? James Lee Burke and Kirsten Schulte almost steal the show as they portray the pompous Reverend Abernathy and his innocent secretary, Millicent. Ed Trujillo, as bumbling C.I.A. agent Luke James, manages to find a way to get caught by every “trap” he sets to protect the safe house. I lost count after six! You don’t want to miss Millicent learning the art of seduction – we should all be so lucky as to have Cynthia Carrier as Heather Faraday for an instructor. Drive on up to Leander soon – before the show is over – and see if you can guess the real rep from The Chagos Island! Collapse

      I'm fairly new to the WOBCP. This was the 3rd play I've seen and my personal favorite thus far. Laughed the whole time. I thought the casting in this play was superb!       Slapstick comedy, great gags & stunts, and funny dialog. Kirsten Schulte steals the show as she takes "seduction" lessons to the tunes of "Baby Elephant Walk." Very funny!
