 WHY ZACH CAMP?
The Performing Arts School at ZACH Theatre is proud to be a leader in theatre arts education. Since 1970 we have enjoyed watching our students nourish their imagination and creativity while also developing confidence and valuable interpersonal skills like communication, team-work and an appreciation for diversity. We offer process-oriented, production based instruction that provides opportunities to explore, develop, apply and refine expression through performance in a supportive environment. Our instructors are professional theatre artists and experienced drama teachers.

ZACH CAMPS help young people build skills and character.

COLLABORATION Students learn to create & produce a play as part of a team, while making new friends.
COMMUNICATION Students learn to express themselves clearly.
CONFIDENCE Students take pride and build confidence through performance for friends and family.
CREATIVITY With teacher guidance, students create original scenes and stories and learn how to convey them with their voice, body and imagination.

Discounts for full-day summer camps
Multiple Camp Discount: Sign up for multiple weeks or register multiple children to receive $10 off each week or child. Additional discounts do not apply.
Friendship Discount: Sign up with a friend by March 31, and both campers receive $10 off. Registrations must be mailed together. Additional discounts do not apply.

FULL DAY CAMPS for Ages 5-13
ZACH’s Theatre Variety Camps engage children in theatre arts and provide an imaginative and active summer of fun. Each week has a unique theme and campers ages 5-13 explore acting, song and dance, comedy improv, theatre games and more. Grouped by age, students create and rehearse a process-oriented production presented for friends and family on Friday. Full day camps meet 9am-5pm. Extended hours are available for an additional fee. Please see registration forms for more details.

Musical
Feel like breaking into song & dance as you walk out of class? Life is a musical & you are the star as we create mash-ups and plan a razzle dazzle show for show choir sectionals competition. Let’s just hope the whole group can come together without any melodrama!

Crazany Cartoons
Comedy
What’s up doc? From wascally wabbits, trouble-making trios of singing chipmunks, superheroes, rugrat babies to energetic sea sponges, we’ll celebrate why it has always been worth getting up early on Saturday morning. Comedy & improv take the stage as we choose from our favorite cartoon characters to get the audience laughing along.

World of Wizardry
Create-A-Play
Merlin’s Beard! Join us on for the final battle and a daring adventure as we create new spells, learn to ride brooms expertly, test our wand dueling skills and solve magical mysteries. Witches & wizards explore the forbidden forest and other enchanted lands when we come up with thrilling stories to perform for friends and family.

Knights of the Round Table
Full Narrative
Brave knights, dreamy damsels, roving minstrels and more join us on the quest to save Camelot. A great wizard guides the boy who shall be king to pull the enchanted sword, Excalibur, from its magical stone. Then with the help of the Lady of the Lake, Arthur creates his court of courageous knights destined for greatness. Swordplay, medieval jousting & courtly dancing add to this special scripted narrative play for campers.

Alien Adventures in Space
Create-A-Play
To infinity and beyond! Martian men, space princesses and adventurous astronauts explore the mysteries of the galaxy as we travel on rockets and flying saucers to moonwalk on the moon, race meteorites, get lost in black holes and learn why stars twinkle.

Twist & Shout Dance-Off
Musical
Bring out the hairspray, flip that do, practice the twist and the mashed potato. It’s time to get ready for the best Doo Wop Show ever as we celebrate the rhythm of the 1960s. You can’t stop the beat!

Land Down Under Adventure
Create-A-Play
G’day mate! Travel to the Outback of Australia, as we explore aboriginal tales and traditional songs on our journey to the land below the equator. Keep your eyes open for kangaroo crossings, crocodile hunters, and laughing kookaburas, as you go waltzing matilda on this ZACH walkabout.

King of the Pride Lands
Full Narrative
The lion does not sleep tonight, as he must grow up and learn the truth behind his father’s death in time to save the circle of life in the African Savanna. Fortunately, he is joined by funny & caring friends, who teach him valuable lessons about being true to himself, so all the creatures of the land may live with no worries for the rest of their days. Campers join us for this special two-week production camp with deeper focus on the rehearsal process, costumes, props, set creation and more!

Rockstar VIII
Musical
Good Golly Miss Molly! Elvis has left the building, and it’s time to hold auditions for your new rock band. Join us for ZACH’s annual epic show when starstruck fans, band agents, and guitar heroes are all caught rockin at the house of blue lights. It’s only rock ‘n’ roll but I like it!

Survivor: ZACH Island
Comedy
Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip… Stranded castaways find themselves on the tropical isle of Zach Scott and must learn to get along with the annoying native neighbors, build a luxurious treehouse, survive on sautéed grubs, fend off stinky creatures of the night and learn the hilarious mysteries of the island. Don’t get voted off before the booby prize is revealed on this silly deserted island.

Half Day Camps for Ages 5-6
Shorter, half-day camps are perfect for imaginative and active 5-6 year-olds and are offered mornings or afternoons. Space is limited, so register early.
9am-12pm or 1-4pm. $225 per session.

Big Top ZACH
Under ZACH’s Big Top, the ringmaster leads lion tamers, tightrope walkers, jugglers and funny clowns in the greatest show on earth! Campers use creative movement and imagination to create their own circus.
