LAFF: The Ladies are Funny Festival celebrates women in comedy by showcasing top female performers from Texas and beyond. 2011 marks LAFF's fifth year of featuring improv, sketch comedy, stand-up, one-woman shows, and short film by and about women. The festival will be held May 5-7, 2011 at the Salvage Vanguard Theater.

Women are funny. No need to prove or debate this point, though we do see good cause to celebrate it. The Ladies are Funny Festival, Texas's largest (and only) all-female comedy festival, returns to the Salvage Vanguard Theater May 5-7, 2011. Performers from Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Toronto will join the ladies of Austin's comedy scene for three nights of laughter and community.

Headlining the festival this year is New York City's Skinny Bitch Jesus Meeting, who will be returning to Austin for their fourth appearance in LAFF, and delightful ukulele comedian Jen Kwok, who has been profiled in the New York Times, on VH-1, and appeared in the film Eat Pray Love. Also performing are local favorites Girls Girls Girls (who founded the festival in 2007), Second City-trained actor Stacey Smith's one woman show, "Confessions of a Chubby Tomboy," superstar improv duo LapCox, as well as a special edition of the popular adult-themed reading series Bedpost Confessions.
