83rd Annual Zilker Park Kite Festival

Kite Day - the 83rd Annual Zilker Park Kite Festival will be held Sunday March 6, 2011 from 10am to 5pm. It's a FREE, fun, family event - everyone is welcome!
Kite flying demonstrations, giant kites, kids activities, moonwalks, make a kite, rock wall climbing and much more. Come hungry, delicious foods of all kinds will be prepared fresh at the event. Experience Austin's best food carts.
Compete with your homemade kite in the Kite Contest and win a trophy. Free parking central at State Garage E, 1604 Colorado St and south at the Toney Burger Center, 3200 Jones Road. Round trip Shuttle rides are $1 for persons 12 and older. Kids and dogs ride free.
Come on down and enjoy “Kite Day” - an event that is uniquely Austin. It's the longest running kite event in the USA. The Zilker Park Kite Festival is sponsored by The Exchange Club of Austin and the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department. Concessions sales benefit non-profits working to break the cycle of child abuse.
