Leticia Rodriguez, popular Austin entertainer, performs world music; fusing Latin, Folk, Jazz and Musical Theater. She performs with artistry, personality and rich interpretation. Boleros, cha-chas and mambos, with a splash of bossa nova, son and jazz, present a cocktail of fun for world-minded folks.
Ms Rodriguez has written, directed and produced several local theater works, and was founder and director of Performance Encounters, performance works company. She has led a band for the past two years to continue her first love, performing. While her first career was in dance, she comes from an extended family of singer/songwriters, where music has always played a key role. Her Aunt was internationally renowned singer, Eva Garza, her brother is internationally recognized singer/songwriter, David Rodriguez, and her niece, singer/songwriter Carrie Rodriguez, is currently on the Americana record charts and international music scene.
Ms. Rodriguez' mission is to bring the blessings of art and music to multicultural audiences, and share the fruit of her artistic heritage. Her first CD album release will be at the end of 2011, honoring her Tia Eva and family.
Darin Layne, guitarist, has played thousands of shows across the US and Europe, both as leader and sideman. His live performance and musical diversity evoke passion and enthusiasm in the audience. Strong compositions are fused with elements of many genres, representing a unique approach based on melody. He has been featured in, Guitar Player Magazine; Jazz Times Magazine, as well as on All About Jazz.com.
