Following up its heralded production of EVIL DEAD, THE MUSICAL, Doctuh Mistuh Productions will be mounting Sondheim’s landmark musical COMPANY this coming December. Proceeds from the 6 (SIX) PERFORMANCE RUN will go to benefit the Breast Cancer Resource Center of Austin.

Unlike most book musicals, which follow a clearly delineated plot, Company is a concept musical composed of short vignettes, presented in no particular chronological order, linked by a celebration for Bobby's 35th birthday. Robert seems to have it all except a wife. Throughout the show we meet his friends and former lovers all while Robert weighs the pros and cons of married life.

The award-winning cast includes Sarah Burke, Andrew Cannata, Sarah Marie Curry, Libby Dees, Amy Downing, Joe Hartman, Leslie Hollingsworth, Jarret Mallon, Michael Muenchow, David Ponton, Laura Powell, Lindsey Priour, Chris Skillern, Haley Smith, Courtney Wissinger, and Molly Wissinger.

    Tickets:

    $10-$25. Admission for our “soft opening” on Wednesday, December 15th will be $10 for all seats with advanced reservations. There will be special Gala Performance on Sunday, December 19th, which will feature a reception and silent auction.

      The show centered on a 30-something bachelor named Robert, the hub of activity for the five married couples who spiral around him. Robert is utterly ambivalent about love and completely averse to commitment. Asks way too many people to marry him. With Songs like "The Little Things You Do Together", "Sorry-Grateful", "You Could Drive a Person Crazy", & "Getting Married Today", give you an idea of the prepondering that goes on. Cast is exemplary Jarret Mallon as Bobby, Amy Downing as Sarah, Courtney Wissinger-Eiland as Kathy, Haley Smith as Amy were a few standouts with multi-talents of range of voices. The cast itself was cohesive, articulate, having fun and relayed all the nuances with skill. Michael McKelvey, beaucoups to the staging of this production, no little feat. GO SEE! Collapse

      What a delightful show! An excellent Sondheim show mounted with a skilled cast. Do not miss it. It is a low budget show, but the performers are more than capable. I got at least one moment of magic... Expand

      What a delightful show! An excellent Sondheim show mounted with a skilled cast. Do not miss it. It is a low budget show, but the performers are more than capable. I got at least one moment of magic from every cast member, but I will point to Sarah Marie Curry and Haley Smith as standouts. The story is about the difficulty an upper-middle class male has growing up and being open to a committed relationship, as well as the difficulties encountered by his friends as they attempt to create and keep successful marriages. Almost anyone can learn something from the stories, but most of the show is pretty light in tone. Go for a good time and you will not be disappointed. Collapse
