A modern day musical love story. Set in New York City, this sweet and quirky romantic comedy follows Austin Bennet (Andrew Cannata), a young greeting card writer, whose life is turned upside down when he finds his girlfriend with another man. Forced back out into the treacherous urban dating scene, Austin meets Marcy, whose spontaneity is matched only by her ability to drive him insane. Now receiving its Texas premiere under the direction of Michael McKelvey, the New York Times said I Love You Because is "filled with wit and zest... terrific refreshing fun!"

      pure entertainment - well presented by a great cast - (some awesome voices!) Everything - from costumes to props & lighting seems just right for a perfect evening. Only a couple of days left to see it... Expand

Get on down to Hyde Park Theatre and see this absolutely delightful romantic comedy pulled off by an obviously devoted and talented cast. If you are in love or thinking about it, this show will help you ask some important questions along the way. Great singing, great comic timing and full of tender moments as well. You can't lose.       I love this show because it has a cute story, very funny lines, great songs, wonderful use of stage/sets, and strong performances by all cast members. Musicals aren't my usually preference - why sing... Expand

      I love this show because it has a cute story, very funny lines, great songs, wonderful use of stage/sets, and strong performances by all cast members. Musicals aren't my usually preference - why sing it when you can say it - BUTT, I truly enjoyed all the songs in I Love You Because. The cast members were delightful. All put forth excellent performances. You don't get a full standing ovation for nothing! I've been spreading the word about this show - it's a MUST SEE. Get your ticket while you still can.       This show is one of those rare marriages of book and score that works on every level and it is nothing less than pure enchantment. The girls are adorable, the guys are hilarious, and all are perfectly... Expand

      This show is one of those rare marriages of book and score that works on every level and it is nothing less than pure enchantment. The girls are adorable, the guys are hilarious, and all are perfectly cast. The musicians are brilliant, the direction is stellar and the clever set takes us straight to NY. The costumes, light design and sound are first-rate. A great deal of love is put into this production. We love live theatre because it often offers up subject matter we perhaps haven't considered before. But sometimes we simply wish to be entertained, and boy does this show deliver. The audience was enthralled and just had to stand and cheer for these artists. It's hard to say who had more fun - the audience or the artists, and when the two groups merge as they did last night it is of course pure magic. Penfield Theatre Company takes no prisoners, holds nothing back. Go see this show and you WILL want to see it again... And again... And again... It's that good! Collapse
