El Salvador-born Nelson Saga is an eclectic writer, composer, performer, actor, and musician with contemporary Latin American folkloric and world fusion compositions. His work depicts sublimeness and directness through an adventurous and sober poetry. In July of 2002, Saga recorded his first musical album Paco El Capitan live at Austin-native Tejano poet Raul Salinas' Resistencia Bookstore. The collection is a testament of his personal experiences as an immigrant and cosmic citizen of the world. A second solo album Trova Del Fuego followed three years later, mixed by engineer Mark Havlen. This production combined live and studio performances. Saga’s recitals draw from an interdisciplinary blend of numerous musical elements and public arts that lead to multimedia presentations using linguistic, visual, and performing arts. His language talents allow him to deliver his songs in Spanish, English, Portuguese and Catalan. Currently Saga is deeply involved in his latest musical project of original pieces rooted in his native land entitled Cipitio, a well-known mystical Mayan legend.
