      The Austin Chamber Music Center February concert was a program of works for piano and string quartet which had been used in movie soundtracks. The choices were very good -- I went because I knew I would hear Barber's Adagio for Strings which was given a touching reading. The musicianship was excellent; I think the Carpe Diem Quartet are very good, and Michelle Schumann plays well also. I also enjoyed the introductory remarks by Ms. Schumann before each piece. The venue was fine; it felt intimate to me. It was well worth my time. Collapse
