Join us for our bi-monthly art party and the opening of the highly anticipated exhibition Turner to Monet: Masterpieces from The Walters Art Museum! Don't miss a special performance by Black Book Angel, featuring Chrysta Bell, David Garza, Dutch Rall, and Pat Mastelotto. Mingle with friends and other art lovers and enjoy tours of the new exhibition, art activities, free snacks, and a cash bar featuring an inspired cocktail courtesy of Justine's Brasserie. The Blanton Café will be open until 9PM featuring a special menu of wines paired with delectable tapas. And, the Museum Shop will be open until 10:30.

      See and "B" Seen at Austin’s B Scene on UT campus! First Fridays at the Blanton Museum mix art, music, friends, food, and drinks up for you in a delectable combination. This month surely must have been its best so far. The Monet exhibit was fantastic and highly recommended. Our group spent quite some time in the exhibit, especially in front of the first landscape to your right. The docent told us the historical stories about it. The music was entrancing. I had heard of Chrysta Bell, the singer, for quite some time from some friends and so I was anticipating a chance to hear the new band with David Garza. I had no idea what was in store for me as I stood hypnotized, yet swaying to her music, her ethereal voice, and fabulous blue dress. The band said they only played museums (Perhaps because they used to play the “Gallery” above the Continental?) Luckily the band said they would be there for every Friday from here forward. Oh…were they joking? What combination will the B have next time? Collapse
