    Celebrating Clay

    Linda Genet

This is a hand-building class for students who are looking for alternative and inventive new directions for working with clay. Students with prior wheel-experience will be able to investigate combining two techniques of hand building with wheel thrown pieces. All ideas are welcome in this class; students will have the flexibility to create non-functional, sculptural, outdoor pieces or can work with idea-starters from the instructor. We will use standard hand tools and have the opportunity to make uncommon and customized tools making your work uniquely yours. In addition to the clay works completed, by the end of the six-week session, each student will have gained new ways of observing form, color, and design in clay. This is an all-level inclusive class and you will be encouraged to work beyond your own expectations.
