    Acting & Creativity: Fairy Tales

The course will culminate in an all-out performance in costume for family and friends. This course - with its emphasis on process, teamwork and individual growth - is a proven delight for budding performers!

Acting & Creativity: Imagination and Creation

In this class, students will further explore theatrical storytelling, making characters and creative play through the poetry of Shel Silverstein and other poets for young readers. While principles build upon those learned in Acting and Creativity Session I, students who begin with “Imagination and Creation” will have no problem diving into the fun. On the last day of class, friends and family are welcome to join us as we enjoy and celebrate the students' work.

    College & Pre-Professional Admission Workshop

This course is designed for students who are considering or have already identified the performing arts for their post-secondary education. Work with performing arts college audition coach Jill Leberknight from Penfold Theater Company and begin the process of developing your audition portfolio. Students will learn how to select, rehearse and perfect competitive audition material; how to write a resume and conduct successful interviews; how to prepare for and obtain quality head shots; and most importantly, how to identify colleges and training programs that suit the students career and personal goals. Students who have worked with Jill have gone on to study at some of the top pre-professional theater, music theater, and vocal performance training programs in the country.

    Grades 9-12
Sundays from 4:30 to 6:00 PM
    10/17, 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, 11/14, 11/21
    Fee: $180 (member), $185 (resident), $195 (non-resident)
    Instructor: Jill Leberknight, MFA

    Hear My Story!

Everyone on this earth has a story. What is yours? Join us as we access the creative space within to release your story in written and spoken form. With the help of instructor Allison Block, students will create a written theatrical piece, inspired by their life experiences. Be heard! Allison is a local playwright, actress, and educator who brings over 15 years of theatre experience to the classroom. She received an MFA in Theatre from The University of Texas at Austin.
