The Fantasticks is a 1960 musical with music by Harvey Schmidt and lyrics by Tom Jones. It was produced by Lore Noto. It tells an allegorical story, loosely based on the play "The Romancers" ("Les Romanesques") by Edmond Rostand, concerning two neighboring fathers who trick their children into falling in love by erecting a wall between their houses and staging a mock-abduction, so that Matt can seem heroically to save Louisa. After the children discover the deception, they each go off to experience the wider world.

The University of Texas is excited to perform The Fantasticks in honor of it's 50th Anniversary.

Tough to watch musicals where the singing isn't top notch. Lots of humorous moments were passed over. Tough to watch shows where the actors are asking for "approval" or laughter. A bit... Expand
