Theresa Rebeck’s “Mauritius,” directed by Drama Department Chair Shelby Bramme, involves two half-sisters who inherit a potentially valuable stamp collection and three seedy, high-stakes collectors who want to get their hands on it.
“You might not think a play about rare stamps could be so engaging,” says Brammer. “But ‘Mauritius’ simmers with constant surprise. It fits the ‘Choice, Challenge, Commitment’ theme perfectly: All the characters make choices to stake their claim on the collection, face formidable challenges, and are committed to their quest.”
