Icons of Photography No. 7: An Evening with Laura Letinsky

Fine art photographer and educator Laura Letinsky comes to Austin for a presentation and book signing at 7pm at the Blanton Museum of Art Auditorium as Austin Center for Photography’s Icon of Photography No.7.
Letinsky's work has been exhibited at the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography; Casino Luxembourg; Galerie m Bochum, Germany; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Nederlands Foto Institute; and The Renaissance Society, Chicago. Collections include the Art Institute of Chicago; J.P. Getty Museum, Los Angeles; and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Letinsky is a professor at the University of Chicago, Department of Visual Arts. She was born in Winnipeg, Canada. She received a BFA from the University of Manitoba in 1986 and her MFA from Yale University School of Art in 1991
Austin Center for Photography’s quarterly Icons of Photography series has brought six legends of photography, beginning in March of 2009, including Mary Ellen Mark and Elliott Erwitt, to speak to Austin audiences. The Icons series is the cornerstone of ACP’s service to Austin and the local photography community.
