October 1, 2010
Add Review/Comment
Widely regarded as one of the most brilliant songwriters of her generation, Suzanne Vega emerged as a leading figure of the neo-folk music revival of the 1980’s. Her unique style ushered in a new female, acoustic, singer-songwriter movement that inspired Tracy Chapman, Shawn Colvin and Sarah McLachlan. Since the release of Vega’s self-titled, critically acclaimed debut album, she has been nominated for three GRAMMYs, including Record of the Year, released platinum and gold albums and given sold out concerts in many of the world's best known halls. Her songs “Luka” and “Tom’s Diner” are so popular that they have become part of the cultural vernacular.
