The Society of American Magicians, Austin Assembly 206, is putting on Austin's Inaugural Street Magic Festival on Thursday night, September 2, 2010.This FREE admission event will take place in the historic 6th Street Entertainment District. One block of Red River Street, next to Esther's Follies, will be closed between 6:00 pm and 2:00 am in a huge festival of magic, music, juggling, balloon sculpture, puppetry, ventriloquism, clowning, and much more. There will be food booths, craft booths, community booths, a Hula Hoop contest with prizes, and dozens of magicians, including some of the best street magicians in the country, brought in just for this event. Family-friendly entertainment and activities will be provided by The Kent Cummins Magic Camp during the early evening, with some of the "edgier" entertainment starting after dark.
