Always a leader in the contemporary tap dance and rhythm renaissance, Austin’s own Tapestry Dance Company will be dancing on the very edge of contemporary tap and rhythm with performances EVERY THIRD THURSDAY of every month of our stellar 2010 – 11 Season. Episode I will be performed on Thursday, August 19th at 8:00 & 9:45pm. Performances for the series will take place in the Studio Theatre at Salvage Vanguard’s Manor Road location. Tapestry on the Fringe! Episode I will delight audiences with the juggling of tap dancing and variety entertainment, all with a pervasive rhythm created by percussionist Andrew Brought. Known for his unique hybrid of sound, Andrew’s one-of-a-kind style is influenced by African, Taiko, and steel drumming along with Northern Indian traditions and more. Two performances ensure a decidedly more “grown-up” attitude for the late show! The series is directed by long-time Company Member MATT SHIELDS.
