Add Review/Comment
On Saturday, October 2nd, Wally Workman Gallery opens it's 2nd solo show with artist Honora Jacob. Jacob creates multi-layered oil paintings that explore feminine archetypes in our contemporary context and their relation to a historical past. From fruit and butterflies to numeric notations, this symbolism alludes to questions of feminine duality, female intuition and fertility. Mining both her personal experiences and those of the collective female, this collage of references attempts to illustrate a manifestation of the contemporary female subconscious.
