Since winning the 1998 Gold Medal of the prestigious International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, Judith Ingolfsson has established herself world-wide as an artist of uncompromising musical maturity, extraordinary technical command and charismatic performance style.

 

Ms. Ingolfsson returns to the Austin Symphony stage to perform Robert Schumann’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Minor. Maestro Bay has also included “Vyšrehrad” from Bed?ich Smetana’s symphonic poem set, Má vlast (My Country) as well as Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique. Schumann’s Violin Concerto will be performed in honor of his bicentennial.

      I don't go to classical shows often, but I had a great time. The musicians were extremely talented and the pieces they played were wonderful.

      Watching and listening to Judith Ingolfsson play with the Austin Symphony Orchestra was an excellent time. I can't imagine it at any place in Austin but the Long Center. The sound was full and perfect. One of my favorite parts was watching Maestro Bay conducting. His precise movements, keeping everything in perfect time, were captivating. Collapse
