Uprise! Productions and VORTEX Repertory Company present B-boy bluez, an episodic journey of growth in the rhythmic back-beat of a culture that was also trying to define itself. In this hip-hop theater joint, award-winning playwright Zell Miller III moves through the timelines the golden age of hip-hop and marks his development into manhood with the graffiti road signs of his youth. Where were you when L.L. rocked them bells, or when RunDmc made the box rock?

This powerhouse performance piece mixes the energy of an old school hip-hop concert, rapid-fire spoken word, comedic antidotes, and some of the best b-boy dancing in this city. This is a remix of the original that blew up The VORTEX stage in 2006. Fresh-to-def hot joints that are mind-blowing son, mind-blowing kid. So unlace your Addias, pull out your kango, and catch them iron worms down to The VORTEX in the blazing Austin heat and peep B-boy bluez written and performed by Zell Miller III. Directed and choreographed by Ananda Mayi Moss. Featuring dancers from Outta Kontrol.
